Having suffered a stroke in July 2014, leaving her with several unpleasant after-effects, Ms. Nicole Dufresne underwent physical rehabilitation sessions offered by the ACTE organization which helps patients with cerebrovascular injuries and head trauma.
In June 2016, she decided to turn to the private sector when referred to the Interdisciplinary Kinesiology Clinic (CKI), located in Sherbrooke, Quebec. After an evaluation by the kinesiologists of the clinic, she began hyperbaric chamber treatments with the aim to increase the oxygen-carrying capacity in her blood.
Since then, Mrs Dufresne has finally regained her autonomy: she has doubled her abilities and no longer needs to walk with her rigid orthopedic brace.
